GCCC Phi Beta Lambda Chapter
a Winner at State PBL Conference

The Greenbrier Community College Center chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) competed very successfully at the West Virginia State PBL conference earlier this month in Montgomery. PBL is the postsecondary division of Future Business Leaders of America, helping members bridge the gap between the classroom and the business world by giving them an opportunity to learn firsthand about the business community.

Chapter advisor Leila Kennedy/Associate Professor of Accounting at the Greenbrier Community College Center of Bluefield State College accompanied the seven student contingent from the Greenbrier campus to the state conference.

Those students receiving awards included: Veronica Pack, lst place Public Speaking, lst place International Management; Debra Ramsey, lst place Economics, 2nd place Accounting for Professionals; Emily Mitchell (who was elected State Secretary of PBL), 4th place Accounting Principles; Jack Kessinger, 3rd place Impromptu Speaking; Gloria Watson, 3rd place Machine Transcription; Patricia Cooper, 2nd place Business Plan, 2nd place Human Resources; and Timothy Dolan, 2nd place Computer Applications; 3rd place Information Management.
