"Healthy Lifestyles" Health Fair
at BSC Features Numerous Vendors

With an emphasis on healthy living and healthy lifestyles, the Bluefield State College "Health Fair" provides an opportunity for BSC students, employees, and the community to take part in a program focused upon their individual well-being. The one-day Health Fair will be held November 16, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Hebert Gallery, Cafeteria, and Private Dining Room within the Harris- Jefferson Student Center on BSC's Bluefield campus.

"We've had great response from exhibitors," noted Marion Harris, BSC intramural director. Harris and Angela Lambert (Assistant Professor of Radiologic Technology) are BSC's wellness co- coordinators.

Exhibitors who have registered to take part in the Health Fair include Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Princeton Community Hospital, and St. Luke's Hospital. The Bluefield Wellness Center, American Red Cross, and Wal-Mart Vision Center are among the many additional exhibitors.

"We will have a wide range of wellness-focused information centers, including everything from massage therapy to glucose and cholesterol checks," Harris added, noting that there is a modest charge for some of the screenings. "Most of the checks and information centers are available, free of charge, and we're very hopeful the public and the BSC family will take part in this program," he said.

The BSC Health Fair was scheduled for November 16, because that's the date of the "Great American Smoke-Out," according to Health Fair organizers.
