Record-Setting Job Fair at BSC
(BLUEFIELD)-- Recruiters from a record high number of 65 organizations
spoke to more than 300 current and former students during the recent
13th annual Spring Job Fair at Bluefield State College.. The two-day
event is a collaborative project involving BSC, Concord College,
Bluefield College, Southwest Virginia Community College, and Wytheville
Community College. It is designed to provide students, recent graduates,
and other individuals pursuing career interests with the opportunity to
meet and discuss options with potential future employers.
"This event brings employment opportunities to students approaching
graduation, along with recent graduates," noted Tom Harrison, BSC
Director of Career Services. "it also provides a
laboratory-type learning experience for freshmen, sophomores, and
juniors who get to meet and talk to prospective employers."
Harrison observed that some students participating as prospective
employers at prior Job Fairs returned this year in the role of
recruiters for the organizations with which they are now employed.
