Membership is conferred upon nursing students in baccalaureate or graduate programs who demonstrate excellence in nursing, and upon qualified graduates who demonstrate exceptional achievement in nursing education, practice, research, administration or publication. The purpose of the honor society is to recognize superior achievement and the development of leadership qualities, foster high professional standards, encourage creative work, and strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession of nursing.
Baccalaureate candidates inducted into membership included: Jennifer Anderson, Laura Anderson, James Bailey, Jodi Belcher, Susan Blankenship, Jessica Brock, Sherri Burleson, Sandra Counts, Joycelyn Finney, Gloria Flack-Reeves, Candy Fulp, Cari Beth Gum, Karen Hill, Rebecca Honaker, Judy Lester, Andrea Martin, Teresa McCoy, Cindy Mills, Angela Schuyler- Meadows, Amy Moore, Veronica Murphy, Cynthia Nuckolls, Rebecca Richardson, Lynda Spangler, Angela Sylvester, Sherry Traylor, and Robert Wynn.
Community leader candidates inducted into membership included: Sandra Shreve, RN, BSN, Marlene Gammon, RN, BSN, Marsha Jones, RN, BSN, MBA, Cathy Hamblin, RN, BSN, Karen Galusek, RN, BSN, and Betty Price, RN, BSN.
President Sandra Griffen Wynn, RN, BSN, presided over the induction. Wynn was assisted by President-elect Angela Hughes, RN, BSN, Secretary Carol Rose, RN, BSN, and Board member Pat Martin, RN, BSN. Prior to the induction, Dr. Debra Harr, RN, Associate Professor of Nursing at West Virginia University, presented the program, "Parish Nursing." She is program coordinator for the new Spirituality Center at WVU and is a parish nursing educator.
