BSC Radiologic Technology Faculty
to Co-Chair Annual State Meeting

(BLUEFIELD)-Bluefield State College faculty members Melissa Haye and Holly Parish will serve as co-chairpersons for the 50th annual West Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologist's (WVSRT) annual conference at Pipestem State Park, November 8-9.

Haye, BSC Rad. Tech. program director and assistant professor, and Parish, BSC Rad. Tech. instructor, are organizing the two-day program. Among the conference attendees are Rad. Tech. faculty from other West Virginia colleges, along with students in those programs and individuals from the professional radiologic technologist community. "The conference provides opportunities for technologists and students to interact, learn of new developments in the field, and 'network,"' Haye observed.

The "student bowl" competition, matching teams of students from the colleges represented, is also a highlight of the event. "A day-long student program has been scheduled, during which the students will take part in a motivational program, work on job interview skills, and take a practice test to give them some understanding of the challenge posed by the national registry exam," Haye explained. Kathy Epperly, Dr. Debbie Halsey-Hunter, Dr. Carolyn Browning, and Betty Blevins from BSC will deliver presentations during the conference.

BSC has significant representation within WVSRT leadership, Haye noted. Dennis Roebuck, a BSC Rad. Tech. graduate and manager of Metro MRI in Charleston, WV, is the Society's president. Angela Lambert, Assistant Professor of Radiologic Technology at BSC, serves as the ) WVSRT vice president, and Holly Parish, Instructor of Radiologic Technology at the College, is the Society's secretary.
