
(BLUEFIELD)--The recent Health Fair on the Bluefield campus of Bluefield State College attracted approximately 300 BSC students, faculty, and staff, along with 20 health care related exhibitors and vendors. The event, designed to promote healthy lifestyles and health education, was sponsored by the College's Wellness Committee.
Attendees sampled a variety of informational material, ranging from magnetic therapy to holistic approaches to wellness. Informational displays focused upon nutrition, fitness, diabetes, colon cancer, jazzersize, weight loss and maintenance, and much more. "We were gratified by the turnout, and we truly appreciate the involvement of our vendors," noted Roy Grimes, Director of Intramurals & Recreation at BSC.
Vendors included the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Army Medical Unit, Avon, Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield Police Department, BSC Nursing Department, Bluefield Wellness Center, CASE, JAN CARE, Mercer County Health Department, Mercer County Health Right, NIKKEN, Pathway-to-Wellness, Princeton Health & Fitness Center, Starting Point, Weight Watchers, and Windhorse Healing Arts Center.
