The afternoon workshop will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 415 of Greenbrier Hall, the main office and classroom building on the GCCC campus at the corner of US 60 West and Church Street in Lewisburg.
Sponsored by the Educational Opportunities Center of GCCC, the presenter will be Robin Blankenship and there is limited seating.
"Prospective students who want to take this class need to telephone 304-647-6560 to register for the free class," notes Suzanne Soucier, director of the EOC at GCCC. "I would encourage anyone who is interested in returning to a college, whether it be GCCC or any other college, to take this workshop in preparation for the return," she adds.
Deadline for registering for the April 29 class is April 25. The Educational Opportunity Center staff aids adults who are prospective college students in finding the right program of study for the individual student, regardless of what college, technical or vocational school the prospective student finds best suited. The Center's staff offers free career and educational counseling as well as practical workshops such as this Computer Skills Workshop for Beginners.
One of four campuses of Bluefield State College, GCCC is the only undergraduate institution of higher education in the Greenbrier Valley and has over 1,000 students from the Summers, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Monroe, Raleigh, Fayette and Greenbrier counties as well as the neighboring Alleghany Highlands of Virginia.
Greenbrier Hall is a part of the Academy Park which GCCC shares with the North House Museum of the Greenbrier Historical Society and Carnegie Hall West Virginia.
