GCCC to Offer Senior Level
Business Courses for First Time

Continuing to grow in service to the Greenbrier Valley area, Greenbrier Community College Center has announced the offering of 400 level (Senior level) business courses for the first time on the local campus of Bluefield State College.

David Schmauss, assistant professor of business, will be the instructor of Management 482- Collective Bargaining and Labor Relations during the spring semester which begins with general registration on Jan. 16-17 and classes beginning at 8 a.m. Jan. 21.

In addition to Professor Schmauss, one of the six full time faculty members at GCCC, the only undergraduate institution of higher education in the Greenbrier Valley will be offering several new or seldom offered courses in the business field during this 2003 spring semester.

Associate professor Leila Kennedy of the Business department will be presenting the Tax for Business and Personal Decision Making while T. Geoff Hunter, associate professor of Business, is teaching Business 490-Business Leadership Skills and Professor Steve Boone presents International Management. The latter two are faculty members on the Bluefield campus of Bluefield State College and will be teaching courses at GCCC through the interactive classroom on the fourth floor of Greenbrier Hall.

Three other business courses will be offered via the web this spring. They include ARET 212- Program Management; COSC 209--Java Programming, and Computer Science 222 Web Programming.

In making the announcement of the expanded business programs at GCCC, Dr. David Perkins, director of GCCC and assistant provost of Bluefield State College, noted, "These are just the new courses being offered at GCCC. We are pleased to offer a wide variety of business, management, marketing, accounting, office practices, and legal and medical office courses and programs."

Dr. Perkins stressed that the general registration is Jan. 16 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Jan. 17 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the offices on the second floor of Greenbrier Hall, a part of the a Academy Park on the corner of Church and Washington Streets, Lewisburg.
