Students attending Greenbrier Community College of New River Community and Technical College for the first time this fall have one final opportunity to attend the summer orientation program.

A second and final orientation will be held July 25 beginning at 8:30 a.m. and lasting until 3 p.m. New students and their parents are invited to telephone 304-647-6560 to make reservations for the event which will include campus tours, financial aid workshops, library orientation, registering for classes and a free lunch.

"We are looking forward to a record number of students this year and we hope as many as possible will attend the July 26 orientation," notes Donna Lewis of the Student Services office who is in charge of the orientation.

"It seems to make college life go much better if the students and the parents have gone through the orientation sessions," Roger Griffith, assistant director of GCC adds.

Other workshops that day include parking, security, meeting with advisors, and a general meeting where college officials are introduced.
