The Hollowell Auditorium of Greenbrier Community College Center will be the vocal point of the Living History and battle of Lewisburg Reenactment May 23-26. The College is a partner in the presentation of this educational event and is hosting the camp of reenacters.
Located adjacent to the reenacters' camp on the front lawn of GCCC, the Hollowell Auditorium is air conditioned with plus seating and all events schedule there are free to the public.
On May 24, "Women's Roles in the Civil War" will be the program by Angela Beavers of the Reenactment and Living Heritage Committee at 11 a.m. Beavers is also in charge of the school groups visitation on Friday, May 23.
Mary Todd Lincoln, a.k.a. Joyce Browning will make her presentation at 12:30 p.m., followed by President Abraham Lincoln, Jim Rubin serving as the reenacter.
A ladies tea at the General Lewis Inn on East Washington Street will be held at 2:30 p.m. with Mrs. Mary Todd Lincoln being present. "All ladies are invited to join in period dress, if possible," says Darlene Fife, chairman of the Battle of Lewisburg Heritage Committee which coordinates and sponsors the events.
Stephen Castle will portray Gen. T. J. "Stonewall" Jackson at 3 p.m. in Hollowell Auditorium while Al Stone portrays Gen. Robert E. Lee.
Dr. Dave Perkins, director of GCCC and assistant provost of Bluefield State College, will present Civil War Music as a program at 6 p.m. Dr. Perkins is a local historian in addition to his duties with GCCC.
At 7 p.m., there will be a Camp Dance with music by "Jim Costa and Friends" and all of the events listed are free of charge.
On May 25, Barry Meadows will appear in Hollowell Auditorium at Gen. Ulyssess S. Grant and at 6 p.m. Castle will return as Stonewall Jackson.
Two ghost tours of the Lewisburg area will also be conducted at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on both Mary 24-25 for a charge of $ per person. The first tour will be of pre-Civil War homes and sites and the connected hauntings and legends that go with them while the second tour, after dark, will be of the Civil War veterans graves in teh Old Stone Church Cemetery. The tours begin at the front steps of Greenbrier Hall, the main office and classroom building for GCCC.

Greenbrier Community College Center of Bluefield State College is located on U.S. 60 West (Washington Street) at Church Street, a part of the Academy Park which GCCC shares with Carnegie Hall and the North House Museum of the Greenbrier Historical Society.
