(BLUEFIELD)--Jesse Colley, a standout pitcher at Graham High School, has signed a letter-of-intent to attend Bluefield State College and play baseball for the Big Blues next season. Colley anchored the GHS pitching staff for the past three seasons, announced his decision during a press conference at Graham High School on May 29.
"Jesse is an outstanding student-athlete," noted veteran BSC baseball coach Geoff Hunter. "He possesses all four of the characteristics--attitude, academics, ability, and aptitude-- that we seek in our recruits. We believe Jesse will be a great addition to our College and our program." Hunter also expressed appreciation to GHS baseball coach Morgan Campbell. "Jesse has gotten progressively better throughout his high school career," Hunter continued. "His poise and focus on the mound, along with his team-oriented attitude, remind us of Rusty Poe, another local product (Bluefield High School), who just completed a fine college career with us."
