BSC Criminal Justice Club Students
Attend National Conference

(BLUEFIELD)--For the sixth consecutive year, students in the Criminal Justice Club at Bluefield State College attended the annual "Training Conference and Jail Expo of the American Jail Association (AJA) in May. Six BSC students and Criminal Justice Club advisor, Shelia Hallman-Warner (Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Administration), attended the event in Albuquerque, NM.

"The conference provided students with an opportunity to attend workshops focused upon current trends in the field, network with professionals from around the country, and enjoy an unforgettable cultural experience," noted Hallman-Warner. "The student sessions complemented what is studied in the classroom," Hallman-Warner observed. "Students saw the importance and relevance of their studies as they related to real world' applications."

Vicky Hodges, a BSC Criminal Justice Club student member, observed, "One of the most intriguing aspects of the conference involved the application of the latest in communications technology to criminal justice."

The BSC students received special recognition during the conference's opening session.
