GCCC Offers Another Free
Computer Skills Workshop for Beginners

Through a special arrangement, the Greenbrier Community College Center will be offering free computer workshop for beginners, covering the topics of Using the E Mail and Surfing the Internet. The workshop will be May 21, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 415 of Greenbrier Hall, the main office and classroom building for GCCC.

Having offered a computer workshop on April 29, the Educational Opportunity Center decided to offer the same opportunity to those who work during the day.

The workshops are free to anyone who is currently not enrolled in college but is thinking of doing so.

"We hope to attract those adults who might be thinking of going back to college or trade school or just going to college, but need help in making their plans. We would love to see them come to GCCC/BSC but, we are here to help them make a success at whatever college or trade school they choose," notes Suzanne Soucier of the Educational Opportunity Center at GCCC.

The EOC offers free career and educational counseling to adult in southeastern WV or the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia, regardless of where the prospective student goes to school.

Robin Blankenship is the presenter for the free computer class and seating is limited. Registration will close May 19 if not earlier and can be made by telephoning 304-647-6560 while information on the assistance offered by the EOC of GCCC/BSC can be obtained by telephoning 304-647-6584.

A campus of Bluefield State College, GCCC serves the Summers, Raleigh, Pocahontas, Monroe, Greenbrier, eastern Fayette, southern and eastern Nicholas and the neighboring counties of the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia.
