Business Forum for Southern, Central West Virginia
Set June 2 at the Greenbrier

A business forum for the businesses of southern and central West Virginia and the neighboring counties of Virginia is scheduled for June 2 at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs.

The day long forum, "Growing Your Business Through Technology," is aimed at both large and small businesses and is being sponsored as a joint venture by the Center for Workforce and Business Development of Greenbrier Community College; Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation; US Small Business Administration and the WV Small Business Development Center.

Topics to be discussed in the 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. event will be "Operations;" "How do I grow my business without growing my expenses?" "How do I know when I'm making money?" "How do I get more bang for my technology buck?"

In sales and marketing, workshops will emphasis "How much should I spend?" "Do I need a website and why" and "Is e commerce for me?" The office technology sessions will stress "What do my people need to know to be competitive?""What can software do for me?" and "ho can help me with training?"

"This one day conference should answer several basic questions most business owners need to know in today's economy," explains Terri Baker of the Center for Workforce Development at GCCC. "This is why it is so exciting for us to be a part of this venture which will reach businessmen from Bluefield through Summersville and Charleston to Lexington, Va." Guest speakers will include Congressman Nick J. Rahall, II; and Mark DeFalco, manager of the Telecommunications Initiative of the Appalachian Regional Commission

Reservations for the forum are now being accepted through May 16, the early registration deadline, and the cost will be $55 per person, lunch included. A late registration will run until May 27 with the fee to be $75 per person.
