The over 1,000 students at the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College will be observing their fall break Nov. 24-28, but offices and the library on the GVC will be open.
Roger Griffith, director of the GVCNRCTC, announces that office hours on Nov. 24-25 will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Nov. 26, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the GVCNRCTC Library will be open Nov. 25-25 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Nov. 26, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"We invite students attending colleges outside the Greenbrier Valley who will be home for the holiday break to come and visit our campus," Griffith notes, adding "Our spring semester schedule is out and available in the main offices. We have a fantastic course offering for the second semester."
Bob Coston, librarian, echoed Griffith's invitation, noting the GVCNRCTC Library was the only primarily research library in the Greenbrier Valley that is open to the public.
"While we maintain out library collection for the benefit of our students, we do invite students from other colleges who are home for the holidays to come visit and use of facilities. But we also invite the general public to use the library services as well," he added.
The Greenbrier Valley Campus serves the Summers, Monroe, Pocahontas, Greenbrier, eastern Fayette, southern Nicholas county area as well as the neighboring Alleghany Highlands of Virginia.
Classes at GVCNRCTC resume Dec. 1 and final examinations for the fall semester will be given Dec. 10-15.
