(BLUEFIELD)--WindHorse Healing Arts Center will present a program on acupuncture at the Tierney Conference Center in Dickason Hall on Bluefield State College's Bluefield campus, October 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The program is the first in a series of monthly presentations by WindHorse, and is designed for health conscious individuals, care givers, nutritionists, medical professionals, counselors, social workers, clergy, and individuals coping with chronic pain, illness, depression, grief, or stress.
Acupuncture is an ancient healing tradition involving the placement of small, sterile needles into specific points in the body affecting the vital energy of the body, in order to restore balance in the body, mind, and spirit. The program will be directed by Misti Oxford-Pickeral, acupuncturist. Oxford-Pickeral holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Texas Tech University, and a Masters of Acupuncture degree from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture. She is licensed by the West Virginia Board of Acupuncture.
The program is open to the public, and a suggested donation of $10 is requested. WindHorse Healing Arts Center is a community-based, nonprofit organization that is dedicated to promoting well being for the body, mind, and spirit through a variety of healing arts.
