Continuing Education Classes,
Training Facility Set for October

Continuing education unit courses have been planned for the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College (GVCNRCTC) by a committee of area business and economic leaders. Details on the course offerings will be announced in October, the month the series are scheduled to begin.

In addition to planning the Continuing Education courses, the trio also discussed the new training room facility available at the GVCNRCTC's office and classroom complex in the Jefferson Office Park, Court Street, Lewisburg. The room is open for rental use by area businesses and business organizations needing a conference room facility than can come with laptop computers and other equipment as needed.

In other news concerning the GVCNRCTC Center for Workforce and Business Development, Dr. David Perkins, provost, announced Sept. 22 the appointment of Greg Shrewsberry as director of the Center for Economic Enhancement.

"In this role," Dr. Perkins explains, "he will provide leadership for the Center and its staff, will coordinate the workforce activities at the Greenbrier Valley and Nicholas County campuses, and will directly oversee achievement of the Center's objectives in the Bluefield and Beckley regions."
