Legislators Visit GVCNRCTC for Sunday Dinner

Members of WV State Legislature visited the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College for a dinner Sunday, Sept. 7, for members of the Legislature's Interim Committees which met in the Greenbrier Valley for the first time ever.

The dinner was in the Student Activity Center of Greenbrier Hall, the main office and classroom building for the more than 1,000 students at the Greenbrier Valley Campus.

The visit to the GVCNRCTC was sandwiched between a socials hosted by Carnegie Hall and tours of the North House Museum of the Greenbrier Historical Society and a desert event at the Greenbrier Valley Theatre.

Several students, including members of the Student Government Association, representatives of the Greenbrier Community College Foundation Inc., faculty and staff of the GVC and President Albert Walker of Bluefield State College along with other representatives from BSC and NRCTC, attended the event to introduce the visiting lawmakers to the fastest growing college campuses in WV.

New River Community and Technical College, with the Nicholas County Campus, the Greenbrier Valley Campus, the Beckley/Raleigh County Campus and the Community and Technical College on the BSC Bluefield campus, serves 12 counties in central and southern WV as well as the neighboring Alleghany Highlands of Virginia.
