Greenbrier Astronomy Association Meets at GVCNRCTC; Plans Star Party

With over 100 attending the first Star Watching Party of the Greenbrier Valley Astronomy Association in March, the newly organized group met April 6 in Hollowell Auditorium of Greenbrier Hall on the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College to plan another such party.

Michael Rosolina of Friars Hill, secretary of the GVAA, notes that "Many of those who attended the first party were attending with their family members. This is a good, wholesome activity for families and we encourage everyone, but particularly families to attend."

According to plans made Tuesday evening, the next Star Party will be April23 with set up beginning at 7 p.m. at Dorrie Miller Park in Lewisburg. April 24 is the make up date in case of cloudy weather and the public is invited to attend and participate in the evening.

Meanwhile, membership in the new organization continues to grow, according to Rosolina and the next business meeting is planned for May 4 in Hollowell Auditorium on the first floor of Greenbrier hall on the GVCNRCTC campus.
