Special Star Party Scheduled
December 16
at WSS Elementary School

A star watching party, open to the public and free of charge, will be held Dec. 16 at the White Sulphur Springs Elementary School to coincide with the sixth grade students having completed a study unit on astronomy. Hosted by the Greenbrier Valley Astronomy Association, the family event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will include viewing the moon, a comet, and the various stars.

The Greenbrier Valley Astronomy Association, which is an outgrowth of Astronomy studies at the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College, is a area wide organization of residents interested in continuing the study of the heavens and heavenly bodies, according to Michael Rodolia, a spokesman for the group. Successful star parties have been previously held at Williamsburg, Lewisburg, and White Sulphur Springs as well as on the Greenbrier Valley Campus.

In case of bad weather, the alternate date is Dec. 17. For further information, telephone Rodolia at 304-645-7318 or visit the web site: www.wvsky.org.
