(BLUEFIELD)--Students in Dr. Debbie Halsey-Hunter's "Business & Electronic Communications" class recently delivered presentations to a demanding audience--their peers. "The presentations were designed to give the students experience in team concept skills, effective use of PowerPoint, Internet research, and selection of topics that would interest their audience," Dr. Halsey-Hunter, Dean of the BSC School of Business, noted.

The presentations helped students understand the importance of good communication skills and techniques, answering questions, using visual aids, and stimulating audience appreciation, Halsey-Hunter added. "Students were to use humor in their presentations and they were to consider strategy, content, organization, and delivery techniques," she said. "The primary objective of the exercise was to help students develop skills essential for on-the-job presentations."
