GVCNRCTC Works with the Greenbrier on Pre-Employment Program

Terri Baker, coordinator of the Center for Workforce and Business Development at the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College, presented an overview of the current pre-employment to the NRCTC Board of Governors during their April meeting. The classes are being held on the grounds of The Greenbrier, White Sulphur Springs.

Baker (left) presents Greg Shrewsbury (right), director of the Center for Workforce and Business Development for NRCTC with one of the famous Greenbrier Chocolate’s which were provided by The Greenbrier’s Housekeeping department for members of the BOG and the college staff. Marilyn Leftwich (center) of White Sulphur Springs, a member of the BOG for NRCTC, enjoys the report given by Baker on the unique program offered through the partnerships with The Greenbrier, NRCTC, the Workforce West Virginia, and the WV Development Office.

Some 30 area residents have been trained by members of The Greenbrier’s Housekeeping staff, including Kathy Blackburn, Charlie Baker, Sherry Russell, and Shirley Canterbury.
