BSC Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society Inducts 40 Students

(Bluefield)— The Bluefield State College chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, the national honor society for freshmen, inducted 40 students into the Society during a recent ceremony at BSC. Only those freshmen who have earned at least 12 credits with a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale are eligible for membership. This achievement places these students in the top two percent of all freshmen at Bluefield State. Parents and family of the inductees attended the session, along with current chapter members.

Students inducted included Bryan Lemon (Ansted), Beckley’s Mary Berella and Kimberly Elkin, Bluefield’s Cailan Blankenship, Amanda Byers, Sanette Collins, Paul Fields, Heather Hart, Joshua Hawkins, Erica Marcus, Jason Murphy, Lana Murray, Santana Robinette, Melissa Ross, Annie Silcox, and Clarence Williamson.

Additional inductees included Nathan Painter (Cool Ridge, WV), Steven Johnson (Crawley, WV), Charles Richmond (Daniels, WV), Michelle Brown (Forest Hill, WV), Harold Gilliard II (Greenville, SC), Elizabeth Huffman (Greenville, WV), Brandon Perkins (Lashmeet, WV), Kelli Campbell (Midway, WV), Jason Wright (North Tazewell, VA), Jacalyn McCalop (Northfork, WV), Anna Humphery (Oak Hill, WV), Amber Jude (Oceana, WV), Sylvia Vass (Peterstown, WV), Princeton, WV’s Tammy Angle, Brett Bailey, Sara Broyles, Rhonda Carroll, Rebecca Fields, Jonathan Harless, Jennifer Poff, Regina Rarick, Jessica Shrewsberry, and April Swim, and Diana Pruett (Raysal, WV).

The induction ceremony was conducted by Chapter Advisor John Cardwell, Executive Director of Enrollment Management, Co-Advisor E. Ralph Patsel, Jr., retired Registrar/Director of Institutional Research, and Chapter Vice President Larry Weatherby. BSC President Dr. Albert Walker also extended congratulations to the inductees at the conclusion of the ceremony.
