BSC Jazz Ensemble Spring Concert, May 9
(Bluefield)-- The Bluefield State College Jazz Ensemble will present its annual Spring Jazz Concert on May 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Basic Science Auditorium on the BSC campus. Now in its 31st year, the 17-piece jazz ensemble is a unique combination of area musicians dedicated to the performance of the finest arrangements, featuring the big band sound. There is no admission charge, and the public is encouraged to attend.
The BSC Jazz Ensemble has performed throughout the Virginias and North Carolina, including a performance at the gubernatorial inaugural ball of former Virginia Governor Gerald Baliles.
Other regional presentations for the BSC Jazz Ensemble include an April 30 presentation (3 p.m.) at the Highlands Jazz Festival in Abingdon, VA and a June 17 (7 p.m.) “Evening Shade” concert in downtown Bluefield, VA.
