Five College Job Fair at BSC a Major Success
(BLUEFIELD)--Recruiters from 55 employers spoke to more than 284 current and former students during the 17th annual Spring Job Fair at Bluefield State College, March 30, 2005. The event is a collaborative project involving BSC, Concord University, Bluefield College, Southwest Virginia Community College, and Wytheville Community College. It is designed to provide an opportunity for students, recent graduates, and other individuals pursuing career interests to meet and discuss options with potential future employers.
"This event brings employment opportunities to students approaching graduation, along with recent graduates," noted Tom Harrison, BSC Director of Career Services. "It also provides a laboratory-type learning experience for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who get to meet and talk to prospective employers."
Harrison observed that some students participating as prospective employers at prior Job Fairs returned this year in the role of recruiters for the organizations with which they are now employed.
