Banking Classes Offered at GVCNRCTC

There are six banks in Pocahontas County; four in Monroe County; 15 in Greenbrier County; and four in Summers County.

To help meet the need for classes in the banking industry, the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College is offering two distant learning courses this fall. Principles of Banking and Law and Banking will be offered through Web-DL and are taught by the American Institute of Banking. There will be an additional fee charged by the AIB.

Anyone interested in going into the banking industry or those who are in the industry already and may wish to grow with the banking industry are encouraged to register for these classes.

"We are very happy to once again be able to offer banking classes for the financial community in the Greenbrier Valley and Alleghany Highlands," noted Roger Griffith, director of the GVCNRCTC, who added that it had been at least 10 years since the local community college had banking classes.

For information on the banking classes or any of the other 43 different courses of study offered by the GVCNRCTC, telephone 304-647-6560 or write or visit the GVC offices at 101 Church Street, Lewisburg, WV, 24901.
