(Bluefield)—For the past five holiday seasons, Bluefield State College’s Campus Corner Bookstore has coordinated the College’s participation in the Salvation Army’s “Christmas Angels” program. This year, BSC students and employees filled Christmas gift bags for nearly 50 “Christmas Angels.”
“We had so many nice gifts that were purchased by the BSC faculty, staff, and students,” noted Campus Corner Bookstore manager Jane Richardson. She expressed special appreciation for the efforts of the Gamma Beta Phi national honor and service organization chapter at BSC, as well as the College’s School of Nursing. “Other employees bought for one ‘angel,’ then came back to get more ‘angels’ and bring additional presents,” she noted.
Bluefield Salvation Army administrator Jerry Lester and volunteer Juan Contreras picked up a van-full of gifts from the Bookstore on December 13. “The generosity of the people who participate in this program, as well as the hard work of the Salvation Army, is heart-warming,” Richardson added.
