(Bluefield)—Four scholarly papers developed by Bluefield State College engineering technology faculty have been accepted for presentation at the 2005 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) annual conference in Portland, Oregon. The conference, June 12-15, 2005, will draw attendees from ASEE’s roll of more than 12,000 deans, professors, instructors, students, and industry representatives.
Don Bury, Professor & Department Head/Architectural Engineering Technology, and Bruce Mutter, Associate Professor/Architectural Engineering Technology & Director/Center for Applied Research and Technology (CART), will address the topic, “Implementation of a Web-Based Curriculum in Architectural Engineering Technology. Mutter and Alvin Lester, Professor & Department Head/Civil Engineering Technology, will co-present the paper, “Development of a Web-Based Curriculum in Civil Engineering Technology.
Later, Bury and Mutter will collaborate in presenting the paper, “The Architectural Engineering Technology Applied Research Assistant Program at the BSC Center for Applied Research and Technology. Finally, Mutter and Dr. Robert Riggins, Professor/Electrical Engineering Technology, will present the paper, “A Method for Integrating Vision and Laser Range Measurements in Autonomous Ground Robotic Vehicles.
The conference provides a forum for ASEE to promote excellence in instruction, research, and practice of engineering and engineering technology. ASEE’s membership includes more than 400 engineering and engineering technology colleges and affiliates, approximately 50 corporations, and numerous government agencies and professional organizations.
