Grant Writing Workshops to be Offered in Welch, January 29

(Bluefield)--Two grant writing workshops entitled "Writing Successful Proposals” and “Finding Funding Sources"will be offered at the Bluefield State College McDowell county location (Mount View High School, Welch, WV) Computer Center on January 29, 2005 (Saturday). Advance registration can be arranged by contacting Ms. Anita Davis at 304-327-4211. There is no registration fee for the workshops. Workshops materials, including a book about grant writing, refreshments and lunch will be provided at no charge to the participants. Seating is limited to 30 participants. On-site registration will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. on January 29, 2005. The first workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at 12:00 noon. The second workshop will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will continue till 4 p.m.

These workshops will teach the basic principles of good proposal writing, along with the skills needed to access online databases for finding funding opportunities. The initiative is designed to increase and expand the non-profit services of BSC and the BSC Research and Development Corporation and to enhance participant’s proposals writing skills. It is expected that such efforts can help improve the economy of McDowell County, as well as of the state. The workshops are open to members of non-profit organizations within the service area of BSC and the BSC Research and Development Corporation.
