The details of the workshops are as follows:
Writing Successful Grants: (9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)
This workshop will cover the basic principles of good proposal writing, including the core research theme, then describing how to identify funding sources and write the actual proposal. Attendees are advised as to how to avoid common mistakes that can lead to early rejection of good ideas, then they will learn how to utilize strategies for better proposal writing.
Finding Funding Sources: (1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
The search for funding can be both time consuming and frustrating. Online databases are becoming increasingly important in helping researchers to quickly identify potential sponsors. This “hands on” workshop will focus on the use of powerful tools such as Community of Science (COS) and other websites, permitting participants to practice their skills.

Lunch will be provided at no charge. The workshop materials will also be given to all participants at no cost. Seating is limited and early registration is encouraged.
