Dr. Dragich’s abstract, “Caring in Nursing Education,” will be featured in the convention’s “Leadership Sessions.” Her paper recognizes the process of caring as interpretive, evolving from personal experience, with narratives used to explore beliefs and assumptions about caring in professional practice. “Caring practices within nursing education help students recognize the power within them to institute change,” she noted.
Dr. Delores Zygmont, RN/Chair, Convention Planning Workgroup, called the abstracts selected for inclusion “an excellent reflection of the strategies nurses are developing and implementing to advance the profession of nursing in all settings.” The 38th Biennial Convention of Sigma Theta Tau will be held in Indianapolis, IN, November 12-16, 2005.
