Bluefield State College - May News Releases

(Bluefield)—A comprehensive two-day program, "Critical Care Review" will be presented at Bluefield State College, May 18-19. The program, which will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days in the Tierney Conference Room/Dickason Hall, provides an opportunity to review for the Critical Care Registered Nurse (AACN) Certification. The course’s agenda follows the blueprint for the AACN CCRN examination. The program is designed for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses who have developed a basic understanding of critical care nursing. The course can also refresh the participant's critical care knowledge.

Bluefield State College is approved by the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses, Registration #WVBPN:080, and the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses, Registration #WV96-0044RN. This program is approved to award 15.6 contact hours for both days. Seating is limited, so early registration is advised. Advance registration is $60 for the entire program, and $30 for either day. Registration forms may be obtained by contacting the BSC Center for Economic Enhancement at (304) 327-4071. There will be an additional charge of $10 for registration at the door.

The presenter will be Betty Nash Blevins, RN, MSN, CCRN. She has more than 25 years’ nursing experience and has presented numerous programs to hospitals throughout the region and the state. She is an Associate Professor of Nursing in the BSN program and Bluefield State College and is a staff nurse in a local Critical Care Unit.
