( Bluefield)— Justin Shrewsbury has been selected as the winner of the "Claude B. Dalton Award" for 2006 at Bluefield State College. The award is presented annually to the outstanding freshman in Engineering Technology and Computer Science at BSC. Justin is majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
The award was established in honor of Professor Dalton, who taught mathematics to Engineering Technology and Computer Science students at BSC for more than 20 years. Frank Hart, Dean/School of Engineering Technology and Computer Science at BSC, noted, "Professor Dalton was consistently recognized for being able to reach a broad cross-section of freshmen in mathematics. Graduates frequently attest to how Professor Dalton made a difference in their success in college."
Shrewsbury is the son of Carla and Marty Shrewsbury of Lashmeet.
