BBL Opens Bluefield, West Virginia Office
Blasland, Bouck & Lee, Inc. (BBL), an ARCADIS company, is pleased to announce the opening of its newest office in the Bluefield State College Research and Development Corporation (BSC R&D) building in Bluefield, West Virginia.
“As a company with its roots in Syracuse, New York, we are pleased to continue our growth in the Southeast,” says Lowell McBurney, P.E., Senior Vice President. “Our business model – focusing the resources of the company on the specific needs of clients – was the primary driver for establishing the Bluefield office, and the strategic location of the office will enable us to enhance our service offering to existing clients in the region.”
“We were extremely pleased to find a location in Bluefield with the level of amenities, security, and access to technology that completely suited the company’s needs,” added Robert Blasland, who headed up the search effort for the new location. “Gerald James, BSC R&D Business Development Director, has been an extremely valuable partner in helping our new office open and BBL looks forward to a continued relationship with both BSC R&D and Bluefield State College.”

On September 30, 2005, BBL combined with the environmental operations of ARCADIS. ARCADIS is an international company with corporate headquarters in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and U.S. headquarters in Denver, Colorado. In the U.S., the ARCADIS environmental practice is roughly equivalent in size to BBL, giving the combined companies an environmental staff of 1,800 professionals in more than 100 offices throughout the country.
The combination of BBL and ARCADIS creates one of the strongest teams serving industrial clients in the U.S. and globally on their environmental matters. We are now closer to our goal of truly providing clients with seamless, client-focused consulting on environmental, health and safety issues across the globe. The depth and strength of the resources from the combined firms are truly exceptional.
