( Bluefield)--High school students, returning college students, and families of students who are interested in attending college this fall are invited to attend a financial aid workshop at Bluefield State College on Monday, February 5, 2007, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Tierney Auditorium/Dickason Hall on the BSC campus.
The free workshop will include detailed information about financial aid, financial aid forms, Pell grants, work study, student and parent loans, payment options, and merit scholarships. Additionally, BSC financial aid personnel will provide line-by-line assistance as attendees complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). “We hope each student will have a completed FAFSA before leaving the workshop,” noted Tom Ilse, BSC Financial Aid Director. “A FAFSA must be received by the federal processor by February 28 so that a student can be considered for receiving the West Virginia grant, which pays for 75% of required tuition and fees.”
Bluefield State College admissions counselors will also be on site to assist workshop attendees. Additional information can be obtained by calling the BSC Financial Aid Office at (304) 327-4022.
