National Trauma Nursing Award Recipient
to Speak at Sigma Theta Tau Program
at Bluefield State College

( Bluefield)—Nationally acclaimed trauma nurse Robbi Hartsock (RN, MSN, PCNP) will be the featured speaker at the Tau Delta Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International’s April 9 dinner program at Bluefield State College’s Tierney Conference Center (Dickason Hall). Hartsock’s speech, “Understanding the Cycle of Violence: Can It Be Broken?,” will be preceded by a 6 p.m. buffet.

Hartsock was recently selected to receive the “Lifetime Achievement in Trauma Nursing Award” from the Society of Trauma Nurses at that organization’s national conference. She is the Trauma Designation and Process Improvement Manager at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD. Additionally, Hartsock has been a member of the American Trauma Society since 1985, and she has served as president of the Maryland Division since 1998.

The program at BSC is a primary fund-raising initiative for the Tau Delta Chapter, and is approved by the WV State Board of Examiners for RNs (#WV96-0044) for 2.4 contact hours. Cost (dinner & contact hours) is $30 for Tau Delta members and $35 for all other attendees. Sigma Theta Tau International provides opportunities and responsibilities to make definite contributions to schools of nursing, to the profession, and to the health of the public, worldwide. The BSC BSN Honor Society was awarded a charter for Sigma Theta Tau International at the biannual convention in November, 2003.
