(Bluefield)—Bluefield State College has been selected to receive one of eight mini-grants for research proposal parathion. The grant awards, which ranged up to $4500, were awarded by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.
Dr. Tesfaye Belay, a BSC Assistant Professor of Biology and author of the grant, noted that the award will assist in the preparation of research or research equipment proposals for submission to external funding agencies. “A point of emphasis in the grant program is to increase West Virginia’s competitive research infrastructure,” Dr. Belay observed.
Other institutions of higher education selected to receive grants through the program included Marshall University, West Virginia University, the University of Charleston, West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and WVU Institute of Technology.
