Professor Michael Lilly Appointed
as Bluefield State College’s Representative
to the WV Consortium for
Faculty and Course Development
in International Studies

(Bluefield)—Michael Lilly, Professor/Criminal Justice Administration at Bluefield State College, has accepted an invitation to be BSC’s representative to the West Virginia Consortium for Faculty and Course Development in International Studies (FACDIS).  He replaces Dr. Patricia Mulvey, BSC Professor of History, who passed away in December.  She had served as the College’s FACDIS representative for several years.

FACDIS is a consortium of 20 West Virginia institutions of higher education with over 375 participating faculty in international studies and foreign languages from more than fifteen different disciplines.  Devoted to improving international education in West Virginia, the Consortium works to:

” FACDIS is an outstanding resource for educators to help students develop into informed and sensitive world citizens,” Lilly observed.  “It assists in course enrichment and revision, helps faculty remain abreast of new methodological and substantive developments in their fields, and serves as a repository for innovative instructional materials.”

“Dr. Mulvey was an outstanding FACDIS representative, actively involved in the organization’s conferences and workshops.  It is both an honor and a challenge to succeed her as Bluefield State College’s representative,” Lilly continued.  He will act as a liaison between BSC and FACDIS and will assist in the selection of FACDIS workshops.
