(Bluefield)—Megan Nichols, a first year student in Bluefield State College’s Radiologic Technology program, was selected to receive a scholarship from “The Pocket Nurse Scholarship Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation. Ms. Nichols, a resident of Harrisville (Ritchie County), WV, was the only student in the nation to receive the scholarship in the Pocket Nurse Allied Health category in 2009. One scholarship is awarded in each of three categories (Allied Health, Nursing, and Nursing Faculty) each year.
“Megan is a wonderful student,” observed Melissa Haye, BSC’s Radiologic Technology program director. “She is very dedicated to her studies and to her work in the clinical area, and she is very compassionate in her work with patients.” BSC’s Radiologic Technology program is offered in both Bluefield and Beckley. Ms. Nichols is a student in the College’s Beckley-based program.
Pocket Nurse has provided medical supplies and equipment for education and simulation laboratories since 1992.
