Shrewsberry Receives "WVCCA Outstanding Contributor" Award

Greg ShrewsberryGreg Shrewsberry, Director of the Center for Economic Enhancement & Occupational Skill Development at Bluefield State College, has been selected as a recipient of the West Virginia Community College Association's (WVCCA) 1998 "Outstanding Contributions Award."

In nominating Shrewsberry for the award, given at the annual WVCCA Fall Conference at Glade Springs in November, BSC Provost Dr. Betty Rader noted, "Greg readily accepted the challenge of his recently established and evolving position. In three short years, the Office of Economic Enhancement and Occupational Skill Development has become one of the busiest offices on the campus and is recognized in our service region as a leader in workforce development and customized training."

BSC President Dr. Robert Moore added, "Greg's hard work, determination, and willingness to go the extra mile have resulted in enough business and industry training contacts for two additional trainers to be hired this year." Shrewsberry also works with the College's academic divisions, providing assistance in conducting focused groups, needs assessments, and identification of faculty to assist with training workshops.
