BSC Presents Very Large Scale
System Technology Workshop

Dr. Shekhar Pradahm
Dr. Shekhar Pradhan, Department Head of the Electrical Engineering Technology at Bluefield State College, recently presented a two-day workshop on Very Large Scale System Technology at BSC. Faculty from several institutions of higher education throughout the two Virginias attended the workshop.

A two-day workshop on "Very Large Scale (VLSI) System Technology" was conducted at Bluefield State College, February 19-20. Dr. Shekhar Pradhan, Department Head of Electrical Engineering Technology at BSC, directed the workshop. Frank Hart, BSC Division Chair/Engineering Technology and Computer Science, also addressed workshop participants.

"As a leader in VLSI System Technology," Pradhan noted, "Bluefield State College previously offered a similar workshop (August, 1997). Both workshops were very successful.

"Several faculty members from institutions of higher education in the two Virginias who had attended the previous workshop have subsequently implemented VLSI System Technology courses in their curriculum," he added. "It is anticipated the two workshops will help to better educate engineering and engineering technology students in the future."

The workshop was funded, in part, by the Community and Technical College component of the State College and University Systems of West Virginia.
