Representatives of BSC's
Creative Retirement Center
to Attend Regional Conference
of Lifelong Learners

Two members of the Creative Retirement Center (CRC) at Bluefield State College will join other individuals committed to lifelong learning in Colonial Williamsburg, VA, March 15-17, for the Elderhostel Institute Network's third Mid-Atlantic Conference of Institutes for Learning in Retirement.

Annette Osborne, BSC Director of Institutional Advancement, and "Feet" Magann will represent the College's CRC at the conference. Osborne will present the program, "Making Peer-Led Learning Work." The Creative Retirement Center has been operating at BSC since 1995.

The BSC CRC is an affiliate of the Elderhostel Institute Network, a voluntary association of 225 Institutes for Learning in Retirement (ILRs). ILRs work with their sponsoring colleges and universities to provide ongoing, college level, non-credit programs for their members. Over 20 ILRs from the Mid-Atlantic region will send representatives to the Williamsburg conference. Participants will share information about curriculum, membership, and administrative issues.

The Elderhostel Institute Network's third Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference in Williamsburg is hosted by the Christopher Wren Association at the College of William and Mary. The keynote address, "Retirement's Big Surprise," will be delivered by Larry Murdoch on Sunday, March 15. Murdoch, an economist, spent over 40 years of his professional life with the Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia.
