BSC Criminal Justice Club Is Awarded a $1,000 Grant from Wal-Mart
The Bluefield State College Criminal Justice Club, "The Enforcers," was awarded a $1,000 grant from teh Bluefield, VA Wal-Mart for its "Make A Difference Day" proposal. The award from Wal-Mart helped to cover costs associated with the club's activities at BSC during "Make A Diference Day," October 24. Pictured (left-toright) are BSC Criminal Justice Club students Susan Duncan, Kelly Stinnette-Mitchelson, club advisor BSC criminal justice administration asssitant professor Shelia Hallman-Warner, Wal-Mart Store Manager George Greene, promotions manager Kathi Elliott, and Criminal Justice Club students Pam Sizemore and Heather Ellis. The "Enforcers" project included more than 30 area youngsters with presentations by local police and fire department officials. Issues like bicycle safety, fire safety, peer pressure, and drug and alcohol dangers were discussed, and a Halloween party followed the presentation.
