William B. Bales, Senior Vice President Inter-national, Norfolk Southern Corporation, visited the Bluefield State College Business Division recently, as the first participant in the College's "Executive in Residence" program.
Bales attended a variety of functions at BSC, and addressed Business Division students and faculty during his two-day visit, January 29-30.
"This program and Mr. Bales' visit provided a unique opportunity for our Division to utilize the services of a key industry executive and to show all our students how real business operates," noted Michael Lilly, chair/BSC's Division of Business and Law Enforcement.
"William Bales showed our students through his life and personal experience that the
doors of opportunity can be opened through a college education," Lilly continued. "His
convocation address to more than 200 Business Division students was relevant and challenging. His participation in the 'Executive in Residence' program was stimulating for faculty and students alike."
