BSC/WVGC Sign MBA Agreement

The West Virginia Graduate College and Bluefield State College recently entered into an agreement to offer a combined degree program, permitting students to complete both a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from BSC and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from WVGC in five years.

Under state requirements, beginning in the year 2000, students who plan to sit for the Certified Public Accountant examination nationally must have completed 150 hours of specific course work. The BSC/WVGC combined program will satisfy the 150-hour requirement, while allowing students to receive two degrees.

Students who choose to take the combined program would apply to WVGC at the end of their junior year of undergraduate work. Entrance to the combined program requires a minimum score on the Graduate Management Admission Test. Students may begin taking courses from both schools in their senior year, as recommended by their advisors.

The MBA program is designed to provide students with an understanding and appreciation of the role and responsibility of the manager and administrator in an environment of change.
