1950's

Philip M. Horton, '57, was transferred from a Laboratory Chemist for Exxon Chemical Company to a Conservation Process Contact engineer for Exxon Environmental.

1960's

S. Randolph Grim, '65, recently retired director of Financial and Administrative Services at Bluefield State College, was presented a "Resolution of Friendship and Appreciation" during the semiannual meeting of the West Virginia Association of Higher Education Fiscal Officers.

1970's

Michael R. Cleary, '78, married Kimberly Dyane "Kadi" Woods on September 21, 1996. He is the manager of Advance Auto Parts in Bluewell, West Virginia.

Gene Derrick Felts, '79, married Linda Gail Williams on October 19, 1996. He is employed as a mapping technician at Pocahontas Land Corporation in Bluefield.

Shelia Curran Johnson, '79, is the interim Director of Financial and Administrative Services at Bluefield State College.

1980's

Lois Brown, '88, is the Acting Bookstore Manager at Bluefield State College.

E. Scott Browning, '82, is the new consumer loan officer at the Pocahontas Office of Premier Bank, N.A.

Anthony L. Bruch, '81, is vice president of operations for the Acadian Ambulance service area comprising of the parishes of Tangipahona, Livingston, Ascension, St. Tammany and St. Helena, Louisiana.

Steven P. Dalton, '85, received the Citizen of the Year award from the Princeton-Mercer County's Chamber of Commerce. He is a Certified Public Accountant for Brown Edwards and Company in Princeton, West Virginia.

David W. Dove, '83, completed all the requirements and recently received his Professional Engineering designation from the State of West Virginia. He is a Professional Engineer at the firm of Almes and Associates located in Beaver, West Virginia. He is married to Tracie Wells Dove, '84, and they have one son, Evan.

Bonita Mitchell, '83, is the new project director of the Southern West Virginia Area Foster Grandparent Program.

Sylvester C. Myers, '86, has been elected to the position of Director-Region 2 of AACE International for the administrative years 1996-98. He is president and chief executive office of S. C. Myers and Associates, Inc.

Caroline Homes Lilly Nuckolls, '87, was a member of the medical staff for the Centennial Olympic Force of Volunteers. She is employed by Promina Cobb Hospital as an International Board Certified Location Consultant.

George (Rich) Richardson Nuckolls, Jr., '89, received his MBA from Brenau University in 1995. He is employed by Norfolk Southern in Atlanta, Georgia and was a member of the Norfolk Southern Olympic Force of Volunteers.

Lorenzo Pence, D.O., has been named a Fellow in the 1996-97 American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Certificate Program in Health Policy. He is a private practitioner and member of the clinical faculty at St. Vincent Medical Center family practice residency program in Toledo, Ohio.

Ron Perdue, '82, completed the Masters of Science, Control Systems Engineering degree in May 1994 from the West Virginia Institute of Technology. In addition, he was registered as a Professional Engineer in West Virginia and Virginia in April 1995. In September 1995, he was promoted to Lead Professional, Training, and Development for General Electric Drive Systems in Salem, Virginia.

Roger L. Phipps, '81, was promoted to Trust Operations Officer of the Trust and Financial Services Division for First Community Bank. He is a certified information systems auditor.

Gary Sisk, '88, is certified as a Professional in Human Resources and is presently President of the Southwest Virginia Personnel Association and Chairman of the Virginia Employment Commission's Employer Advisory Committee in Norton, Virginia. He is employed as the Division Training Coordinator for an Arch Mineral Company subsidiary.

Kirk Suehs, '89, was the first place winner in the BSC's Eighth Annual Fall Fest 5K race. His time was 21:04.

1990's

Barbara Beam, '95, received a promotion to Accounting Assistant II for the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine Foundation, Inc.

Ronald, '96, and Angie Scott Bibey, '93, are the parents of a daughter, Morgan Bryce Bibey, born August 14, 1996.

Heather Diane Blackwell, '96, married Dwayne A. Duncan, '94, on August 17, 1996. She is employed by First Community Bank, Inc. and he is with Lowes.

Sharon Michelle Blevins, '96, married Anthony A. Webster, Jr., '92 on September 14, 1996. She is an operator for Norfolk Southern and he is an inspector for the City of Bluefield.

Johnny Vincent Buzzo, II, '93, married Tracey Diane Bond. He is a police officer for the City of Roanoke.

Gary L. Dove, Jr., '96, married Stephanie Minnix on December 14, 1996.

James V. Eason, '96, is currently in his first year of studies at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia.

Christopher Flanagan, '95, is currently in his first year of studies at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia.

Teresa Jo Guill, '93, married James Mattox, Jr. on September 27, 1996. She is employed as manager for County Seat.

Angela Joy Kade, '95, married John C. Sylvester on August 17, 1996. She is a registered nurse at Princeton Community Hospital.

Christie Lynne Linkous, '94, married Jeffrey S. Wallace, '94, on July 20, 1996.

Charity McDaniel, '91, was the BSC women's winner in the BSC's Eighth Annual Fall Fest 5K race. Her time was 22:22.

Michael B. Remines, '92, is currently in his first year of studies at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia.

John R. Repass, '92, earned the AFIP Certified Finance and Insurance Professional designation. He is a member of the General Motors Honors Guild.

Traci Lynn Scott, '95, married Joe William Keatley on October 20, 1996. She is employed by Lilly's Jewelers.

Susan Aliff Shrader, '90, is the Record Officer for the Registrar's Office at Bluefield State College.

Alecia R. Sutton, '96, completed her U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois.

Timothy Mansfield Williams, '90, was sworn in as an attorney-of-law for the state of Georgia on October 30, 1996. He will be in private practice in Atlanta, Georgia.

L. E. Younger, Jr., '90, is an business instructor at Grayson County Vocational School.
