Dr. Louis Barsi, Vice President for Student Affairs, has been named to the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Region II Advisory Board, as a member "at large."
Dr. Steve Bourne, professor of Business, and John Snead, associate professor of Business, will be featured presenters at the "Academy of Management," the nation's premier organization for management faculty in higher education, August 9-13 in Boston, Massachusetts.
J.D. Carpenter, Director of Campus Life, is NASPA's Region II Newsletter Editor. He is also Newsletter Editor of the West Virginia Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
Bernadette Dragich, associate professor of Nursing, was a featured presenter at the West Virginia League of Nursing's annual meeting in Parkersburg. Her program, "Nursing Research in West Virginia--Guiding Practice into the Next Millenium," was based upon research she had conducted.
Dr. Harriet Duncan, professor of Nursing, has co-authored the article, "Mall Walking: An Effective Mental Health Intervention for Older Adults," that was published in the "Journal of Psychosocial Nursing."
Dr. Sudhakar Jamkhandi, Director of the Center for International Understanding, has been reappointed to the Northeast Regional Panel of the Department of Defense's National Security Education Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Study. He was also a featured presenter at the recent National Association for Foreign Student Advisors Association of International Educators Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Akhtar Safder, assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology, has been named chairman of the West Virginia chapter of the American Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
