May is the time of the year when alumni come back to their alma mater to reflect on treasured memories with family and friends and pause long enough to meet new people.
During what is now a tradition at Bluefield State college, the class of 1947 arrived on the campus fifty years later the same way they departed--full of smiles, laughter, memories and vigor. Aside from a few changes in the building and the positive renovations to the campus, it was if they had never left. Needless to say, we all enjoyed their company (and their families) for the weekend.
This is also the period when membership is crucial. Over four hundred students crossed the bridge to join thousands more in becoming alumni. I hope that these new alumni will band together with alumni in the association by becoming paid members. By doing this, it will allow for future generations to make their dreams reality--thus becoming members of the Bluefield State College Alumni Family!
