The Bluefield State College Cisco Networking Academy Program classroom/lab is located on the third floor of Dickason Hall in Room 330.  The Academy office is located in Room 226 of the same building (304 327-4584).

The Program consists of two parts: BSC is a Cisco Regional Academy; it is also a Cisco Local Academy. As a Regional Academy BSC trains instructors from the high  schools, vocational-technical schools and two-year colleges in an eight county service area.   As a Local Academy BSC provides the Cisco program as both an academic and a business & industry offering.   Each is the standard four semester Cisco curriculum. The academic offering is part of the Computer Science  Associate Degree. It is four regular semesters (two years) long. Regular tuition and fees are charged, and financial  aid is available for eligible students. The Business & Industry training lasts nine months and is offered in the  evenings and some weekends. Financial aid is not available for this accelerated training. Contact  one of the staff for additional information or visit the Cisco link at the bottom of this page. Successful  completion of the curriculum prepares the students for the Cisco Certified Network Associate - CCNA exam.

We offer Cisco Certified Network Professional - CCNP classes. The academic classes started in August 2001.  Business and Industry classes started October 1, 2001.  Persons interested in CCNP classes can contact one of the staff for more information.  The CCNA certification is a prerequisite for these classes.
