General Announcements - Updated May 3, 2006

  • Students enrolled in the web-based course for the spring 2006 should read the course introduction for important details about GEOG 302, Geography of Anglo-America. 

  • There are very few deadlines along the way, but if you don't keep up, it may be difficult to catch up at the end.  Please email me weekly so we can remain in touch.

  • Final Exam
    • The final exam will be held on May 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. in Room 102, Basic Science Bldg. If you have a conflict please contact me prior to May 8 to reschedule.
    • The exam will consist of true/false, short answer (from one word to several sentances), matching and definitions. This exam is comprehensive and will cover my lectures. There will be one to three questions from each lecture. It will be curved if necessary. An example test questions is; what are the basic assumptions of von Thunen’s model?
    • The final exam will count for 50% of your final grade.
    • The quizzes count for 20%. The research project 20% and the interaction you have had with me counts 10%. I will explain more about this at the final exam.
    • Please bring a picture ID card with you to the final exam. I would prefer a BSC ID or driver's license.
    • The quizzes will need to be emailed to me no later than 4:00 pm, May 5, 2006.   The research project can be brought to me on a disk at the final or email it to me prior to the final.
    • There will be no incompletes given unless proper documentation is submitted and it is approved in advance.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader - A free reader for pdf (portable document format) files.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer - With this release, the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 97 supports PowerPoint 95, 97 and certain aspects of PowerPoint 2000 and 2002 files. This viewer allows people who use PowerPoint to share their presentations with people who do not have PowerPoint installed on their computers.  (It is free!)  The computer lab located in the Vining Library and the lab in the Engineering Lab Building do have the full version of PowerPoint installed on the PCs.
